Diana/Donna:

The two new early-season varieties from Planasa’s breeders produce very beautiful and glossy fruits. The plants are fairly similar in appearance, but Diana is about two days earlier, while Donna offers higher yields. With a flavour to match Elsanta standards, the two varieties excel with an excellent shelf life.

Alba:

Very early variety bred by New Fruits, Italy. The ripening period for Alba is about 2 – 4 days prior to that of Clery. With its high yields and attractive, bright fruits, Alba recommends itself for commercial marketing.
Its very firm fruits feature only a moderate flavour. Alba is sensitive to herbicides!

Asia:

Asia, a variety bred by New Fruits, Italy. Its excellent flavour, large fruits and high yields make it an interesting candidate for pick-your-own and direct marketing. Whether or not it is suitable for commercial marketing is still to be decided. The berries seem to be firm enough, but they tend to be very large at the beginning.

Malwina:

Malwina is the latest ripening among the currently available strawberry varieties worth growing. It is going to set new standards for late season varieties in the direct marketing segment. Already under standard cultivating conditions, the peak season is some 22 days after Elsanta (12 days after Florence). When straw covering is applied it ripens as late as about 30 days after Elsanta!

Charlotte:

Charlotte is a new everbearer bred by Ciref, France. Its fruits are medium-firm, large, medium-red and glossy. Its pronounced woodland strawberry flavour is a „matter of taste“, quite literally.

Sweet Eve/Eve’s Delight:

Two everbearers bred by Peter Vinson. Both varieties provide a better alternative to Evi II and Everest in terms of flavour. The fruits are bright to mid-red and glossy. Yields differ depending on the cultivation method used. They were inadequate in conventional field production. Protected culture and production in substratum produced good results.
